First Standing O!

The Boomers performed at The Reserve of Lake Ridge on 10/2 and the show went extremely well. We video taped the action and will be releasing a promo video ASAP. Dennis was electrifying as he sang “I’m So Fat” in his plaid shorts and over stuffed shirt. Joe G managed to get through the night without forgetting too many lyrics. Unfortunately the same can be said for Joey La and Guy but who cares? We all had fun! After we did our finale “Everyday” everybody was on their fee clapping and having a good ole time. We weren’t sure if it was a real standing ovation, people just wanted to get the hell out of there because the band was too loud or they just needed to go to the bathroom. In any event, it was a standing O and we’ll take it any way we can get it!

Happy Holidays!

I just got an email from a loyal Canadian fan who informed me that she just purchased 12 Boomer CD’s from CDBaby and will be giving them to her friends and family as Christmas gifts. I thought. “What a splendid idea!” The record also makes a lovely Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or Birthday gift as well. So come on people… Here’s a great holiday gift idea for you! I think that everybody should purchase 12 Boomer CD’s and really make this a joyful holiday season to remember:~)

Boomer Moment

Had a great boomer moment this morning. I took my son to cub scout camp this morning. When I got there I realized that I was at the nature camp that I took him to last week. We were only 10 min. late to cub scouts. If I only had a brain!

That’s how he made all his money!

The guys were over my house one day tippin a few coldies on my front porch. My neighbor drove by in his new Benz and Bobby said “What’s the deal with that guy? How did he make all his money?” I tried to explain it to him but Dennis cut me off, started dancing and broke into this song! It was like a cross between a freaky Fellini movie and a Fred Astaire flick! Luckily Guy had his 8 track recorder going and we were able to capture the audio. I decided to add some images and preserve the whole unsavory story on video.

Boomer Review

We got a really nice write up in the Trenton Times by Sharon Schlegel. Check it out!
Thanks Sharon!

Who Is Carla Katz?

When the Boomers performed last Sunday I asked the audience who Carla Katz
was before we performed our epic saga “Union Job”. Frankly I was a bit
surprised that all I heard was a few forks clinking in the background. I
thought that everybody knew who Carla Katz was! Apparently not. FYI, Carla
was the president of Local 1034 of the Communications Workers of America and
also dated our beloved governor Corzine before he got elected. It is well
documented that he gave her gifts during their short relationship of up to 6
million dollars! That’s a hot date! She was guest hosting on NJ 101.5 Radio
with Dennis Malloy last Friday and they played the song for her. She said it
had a nice beat and liked the singers voice.

My wife absolutely hated this song and pretty much begged me not to include
it on the new Boomer record. After watching me perform the song live she
finally “got it” and told me so after the show. I am not anti union. I am
anti union corruption. I am not against union workers, teachers, hardworking
government employees or cops and firemen who put their lives on the line
everyday. I am anti government waste, union corruption and pay to play
politics. I’m a Boomer and really care about what is going on in our state.
Ever feel like pulling your hair out when you hear about all the wacky
things going on in NJ politics? I do. That’s why I write these silly
satirical songs. It’s the only way I can keep my sanity.

I’d really like to know your opinion. I have put a free down loadable MP3 of
“Union Job” on the tunes page. http://seetheboomers.com/tunes/

Give it a listen and let me know what you think. It’s Free!
